Hey everyone!

Big news today, we've released a new public alpha demo for Raw Metal, including several new features and a ton of polish and quality of life changes. These changes include:

• New level
  • The second underground level of the game is available, and has some new threats and sites of interest to encounter.
• Gear system
  • Loot equippable gear pieces with unique effects and tradeoffs, which can be combined into countless builds and be used to better suit your playstyle!
  • Gear can be exchanged at the Lounge on the first level, or upgraded/scrapped/repaired at the Forge on the second level.
• Hideout mechanic
  • Any gear you find in a run will be lost if you get scrapped, so at the end of each level you'll have an opportunity to attempt an escape and stash your gear in your hideout to bring in on future runs.
  • Gear cannot be upgraded or repaired in your hideout; only in the mines! Consider risk and reward when choosing what to bring in.
• Tweaks, adjustments, and polish
  • New heat system
    • Guards now recognize patterns of attacks rather than continuously blocking individual types of attacks, which should make combat a little more interesting.
  • Sound indicators
    • Guards will have an indicator around their head when you are approaching the distance at which they can hear you. This acts less like a gauge that fills up and more like a proximity indicator to let you know when you're safe to walk at full speed, or when to start sneaking.
  • New UI
    • We have some fresh new UI in place that closely resembles the look we want for the final product. Enjoy the new main menu, inventory, Gear Exchange, and Forge menus, along with other minor additions!
  • General polish and bug fixes
